Time to Celebrate LIM Week 300!

Today
"Less is More"
 has reached quite a milestone...
this is the 300th week
of our Clean and Simple challenges
and it's all thanks to the wonderful participants who have contributed each week and of course to our A-MAY-ZING Design Team
who inspire each week with their fabulous designs, techniques and ideas!

SO it's a time for a
CELEBRATION
As this is a month with five Saturdays, it's our special week with a
Guest Designer and  Lucky Dip theme.

which is
Celebrations and Festivals

We also have some amazing Spot Prizes donated by members of the design team.
The designers concerned will choose their winners and all will be announced next week ....
'til then we're keeping things under wraps. SO you have to be in it to win it!

Our Guest this week is the wonderful
Julie
from
Some of the DT had the pleasure of meeting Julie at the HLS Stamp Retreat earlier this year and were inspired by her enthusiasm and wealth of ideas... we're sure this little number will inspire you too!

Susan

Anita

We really hope that you will join in with our special 300th Celebrations... the theme should give you plenty of room for ideas!

As always please remember..

Clean and Simple... lots of 'white space', few embellishments and minimal layers!
We'll be looking forward to seeing your creations!

ShowCASe Week #298 - Spiders & Insects

Hi there LIMettes it's time for our weekly ShowCASe post.

What a great week filled with lots of creepy crawly creations!

It's never an easy job to select our favourites but we do love seeing
all your stunning takes on the challenge in our gallery each week.

So here goes with our choices, in order of entry for

Week #298 - Spiders / Insects

#15 Birgit
This card is CAS perfection.  The creepy spider really pops against
the white space and the placement of the sentiment is a great touch.

#41Daizy-Mae (Viv
Dragonfly, LIM, CAS
The talented Viv has hand drawn and watercoloured this dreamy dragonfly.
The soft blues and greens look fabulous.

The spiders look like they are about to crawl right off the card.
A great CAS design with lots of texture from the embossed
webs and a balanced layout.

Congratulations ladies and please help yourself to a ShowCASe badge
from the page at the top of the blog with our thanks.
We hope you'll display it proudly on your individual blogs.

We're sure you'll agree these are a wonderful trio and worthy of
our ShowCASe badge this week.
Do pop along and congratulate them on their win.

As always there's still time to enter our current challenge
#299 - Recipe: Use Acetate or Vellum

which ends at 10pm BST this evening before we announce
the new one at 8am BST tomorrow morning.

One Layer ShowCASe Week 297

One Layer ShowCASe
Week 297

We had some terrific ideas for our ONE LAYER 'dream' challenge, with some wonderful designs. It seems that sometimes some people get carried away with the theme and forget about the one layer element and other times the One Layer part is paramount and the theme gets forgotten!
However the cards in our showcase this week did neither of those things and are simply perfect!
Without further ado... here they are!

Perfect CAS design...we love all that white space
Perfectly ONE LAYER ... no added layers or embellishments
Perfect theme for our DREAM challenge!
Wonderful Gail!

Papertrey Ink Garden Variety stamps used in the Less is More Dreams one layer card challenge
Immaculately stamped, perfect placement with a sentiment to tie in the Dream theme!
Beautiful Wendy!

img_3467
Once more here we have a wonderfully CAS design... oodles of white space, careful placement and a simple sentiment!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful on all counts!
Please take our Showcase badge from the page at the top and we hope you will display it on your blogs with our congratulations!

Another challenge awaits tomorrow morning, but there's still a little time to enter this week's Spider or Insect challenge!

Do join us again soon!

Challenge #298 Theme

It's time for another theme and this time we have the somewhat seasonal subject of

Spiders or Insects

This should give you a little scope for interpretation.
As ever, our Designers have come up with a plethora of wonderful designs to inspire and entertain you!

Please remember that our challenge is

SOLELY for CLEAN & SIMPLE CARDS

Anita

Even if you don't wish to go down the Halloween road, (we appreciate that lots of you don't mark this occasion) there should still be plenty of scope for incorporating the theme this week!

So have lots of fun!

ShowCASe Week 296 Turquoise & Lilac

It's ShowCASe time
and we have selected some real beauties for week 296.
Our chosen colours were Turquoise and Lilac which proved a very popular combination as attested by the wonderful entries submitted for this challenge
Thank you all!
Choosing is always difficult but we're sure that those selected this time are most worthy submissions.

 Ann
A beautifully inked Christmas card using the challenge colours to create a non-traditional look for a traditional scene. Fresh, pretty and a super CAS layout. Well done Ann!

45. LucieG

Lucie's card catches your attention immediately with its delicate detailing and shimmery colours. The gems around the sentiment that follow the line of the main die cut are a lovely touch.

CASology Challenge, Less is More Challenge entries using Mama Elephant Honey Bunny stamps

Wendy squeezed loads of texture and detail into her sweet card, while still keeping it perfectly CAS. Never an easy thing to pull off, but this card proves that it can be done, and to brilliant effect.

Congratulations ladies!
We'd love you to take our ShowCASe badge from the page at the top with our congratulations!
There's still a few hours left to enter this week's 'Dream' challenge, which ends at 10pm BST tonight, but should you miss this one a brand new challenge will begin on Saturday morning at 8am BST!
DO join us then!

Week 297 One Layer Card

How quickly the weeks roll by, and it's once more
ONE LAYER CARD
time.
This time our theme is
Dreams
You can be as inventive as you like, but please remember

NO layers
Lots of WHITE SPACE
Totally minimal embellishments
The image must be printed/stamped directly onto the card base!
The DT have some stunners to inspire you as usual and of course if you follow the links by clicking on their names, there are often additional examples to be found on their personal blogs.
They love a visit too!

If you ever find that you don't have a suitable sentiment stamp for any project, you can always create one on your computer. There is a tutorial for making sentiments using text boxes here
This was made some time ago using Word 2007.
Most of you probably now have a more recent edition of Word and in the 2010 version for example, to make the boxes transparent, with the boxes highlighted you click on Shape Styles on the top bar, when the panel at the side appears you click on Fill and then slide the transparency toggle to 100%
If there are any problems or questions you can always email us!
We hope you'll have fun!

ShowCASe Week #295

Hi there LIMettes it's time for our weekly ShowCASe post.

It's never an easy job to select our favourites but we do love seeing
all your stunning takes on the challenge in our gallery each week.

So here goes with our choices, in order of entry for
Week #295 Recipe - Use Thread

Ankie

We loved Ankie's wonderfully stamped heart with the accent of gold thread.
And the pierced border was the perfect detail for this pretty design.

Birgit

So clever to use a sewing theme along with our thread recipe.  The layout
is fabulous and although Birgit used a large sentiment there is still plenty
of the white space we love.

Sally

We loved this pretty pairing of soft watercolours and glitter for a
Christmas card. Such gorgeous non-traditional colours and the delicate
metallic thread just works.

#296 - Turquoise and Lilac

which ends at 10pm BST this evening before we announce
the new one at 8am BST tomorrow morning.
